Completing this course will contribute to 3 hours of NESA REGISTERED PD addressing 2.5.2 and 2.1.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.

Workshop includes:

  • language and speech development

  • phonological awareness

  • fine motor development, writing

  • play based learning in relation to literacy

  • EYLF and literacy

  • many practical and effective ways to help develop literacy skills

  • how to introduce picture books and use these books in other ways

  • time for questions and discussion

Parents /Carers Pre-reading and Writing Skills

(targeted age group: 3 -5 year olds)

(1 hours and 50 minutes)

VIDEO includes:

  • speech and language development

  • choosing appropriate books

  • vocabulary

  • phonological awareness

  • questioning techniques (comprehension)

  • ​effective, simple games and strategies to help with reading and writing

  • fine motor development and writing

  • making connections 

  • using picture books in other ways

All registered receive all the handouts and games via email.

Numeracy and Thinking Skills

Educator Webinar (1 1/2 hours) Workshop (2 hours)

(targeted age group: 3-5 year olds)

This webinar will contribute 1 hour and 30 minutes (for the webinar) and 2 hours (for the workshop) of NESA Registered PD addressing standard descriptors 2.5.2 and 6.3.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
